Sanka Praksalana – Classic Yogic Detox

Event Details

Sanka Praksalana is an all-natural yogic practice for a complete internal cleanse of the gastrointestinal tract, involving the consumption of warm, saline water followed by specific yoga poses to flush out waste and toxins from the entire digestive system.

The practice is named after the shape of the digestive system resembling a conch shell (Sanka) and the act of completely washing it (Praksalana). It is performed to purify the body, improve digestion, boost metabolism, and achieve a state of luminous well-being.

Unlike colonic irrigation, enemas or other modern procedures that only cleanse the large intestine, sanka praksalana cleans the entire digestive system. It is a genuine, inexpensive yogic alternative to colonic hydrotherapy, and offers many benefits such as clearer skin, diminishing symptoms of IBS and eliminating toxins.

In this workshop you will be guided clearly step by step through the entire process, and be able to ask any questions that may arise during the cleanse. The workshop is kept online to allow you to perform the method in a relaxed and comfortable manner in your own home.

Why do Sanka Praksalana?

Modern diet, sedentary lifestyle and environmental factors cause toxins to accumulate and become embedded in the mucous lining of the intestinal walls. These toxins gradually seep into the blood stream and become the source of premature aging, a wide range of health issues and even mental & emotional disturbances.

Sanka Praksalana removes toxic substances from the digestive tract, has beneficial effects on the liver and pancreas, and improves overall digestion. It is recommended to perform Sanka Praksalana 2-4 times a year, to refresh and reset the vitally important digestive system.

How is it done?

Sanka Praksalana consists of drinking a sufficiently large quantity of warm salt water, performing a specific set of movements to help it move smoothly and thoroughly through the intestines, and naturally eliminating the water by going to the toilet.

It is concluded with an optional simple method to rinse the stomach, a deep relaxation and a simple meal consisting of well-boiled rice with ghee (or butter / vegan butter).
